In November the AMS (Australian Macadamia Society) held their biannual national industry conference at Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
With over 500 delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and speakers the event was the largest conference ever held by the AMS.
Imtrade Australia has shown its commitment to the Macadamia Nut industry by exhibiting at 2018 AMS conference attended by state managers Mark Adams (QLD) and Peter Knight (NSW). While manning the exhibitor booth, Mark and Peter chatted and networked with growers, consultants and resellers who showed much interest in the extensive range of products specifically registered for the rapidly growing Macadamia Nut industry (see below) as well as some new products that will be registered in the near future.
Also representing Imtrade Australia was newly appointed QLD/NSW technical manager Chris Polleto, who attended many of the industry workshops and talks. Chris will be conducting a range of trials over the coming months and will be working with some of the invaluable connections he made at the conference.
The exposure to the numerous growers, consultants and resellers all in the one place at the same time provided an excellent opportunity to meet new people within the industry and also build upon already established relationships in a relaxed atmosphere.
Imtrade Australia prides itself on being a provider of solutions to Australian growers, and attending industry events such as the AMS conference provides an opportunity to work directly with growers, who in turn have an opportunity to contribute valuable insight into our research and development program.
During the 2 days that the trade show ran, Imtrade Australia ran a competition from their booth where delegates could fill out their contact details and go into the draw to win a complete macadamia nut crop protection package. The draw was conducted by an AMS employee and the lucky winner was Kirsty Newell who along with her husband Brett own and run their orchard on the Sunshine Coast in QLD, congratulations Kirsty!!
